Why Give?
We believe that God owns everything and that we are to be stewards of all He has given us. Yet He is a loving God. There is only one place in the Bible where God says to put Him to the test.
Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you. and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.”
Many of our parishioners can testify to God’s truth and generosity in their lives by obeying God’s command in that scripture. As a church, we tithe to the Mid-South Diocese and the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC). The money is then used to fund local and international missions.
Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
